...a Past District Governor in Rotary International for the year 1976-1977 operating for Rotary Clubs in the South-west area of Ontario and adjacent areas of New York State. Born in 1918 into a family of three, he actively operated a General Insurance Company in Southwestern Ontario, selling it before his retirement to the Alliston area. Married to Doris Perrett , he became interested in Probus after a trip made to Australia and New Zealand in 1981, and immediately set his sights on beginning and developing Probus Clubs in Canada in 1985. Success came in March, 1987 with formation by the Rotary Club of Galt, The Probus Club of Cambridge in Ontario, the first club in Canada, followed by growth in members which averaged forty percent annually to 1995.
