Langwarrin is a semi-rural area approximately 42 km south east of Melbourne and about 5 km from the centre of Frankston. Turning one way, we have easy access to freeway - non stop to City of Melbourne or Tullamarine Airport and turning the other we are within a few km of the lovely Mornington Peninsula with it's beautiful beaches, wineries, antique shops and art galleries, craft markets and restaurants - so we believe we have the best of both worlds. (We are also on the fringe of one of the fastest developing areas in Victoria - too fast.)

Notable landmarks are:

Cruden Farm, the home of Dame Elisabeth Murdoch and childhood holiday home of Rupert Murdoch

McClelland Gallery

Langwarrin Flora and Fauna Reserve

This 214 ha Reserve is an area of relatively undisturbed bushland. Following recognition of its important conservation values the Victorian Government agreed in 1982 to purchase the former military area from the Commonwealth Government. In 1886 the Langwarrin Military Reserve was used for various activities by the Victorian Colonial defence forces. During World War 1, German prisoners-of-war were detained there and a hospital was set up for the treatment of soldiers returning from France and Egypt. Half of the Reserve was cleared to establish pasture for military horses. Today all buildings are gone. Some remaining evidence of the past use includes earthworks, drainage and foundations, and changes in the pattern of vegetation following growth after clearing. The Reserve is a very important habitat for native fauna, particularly small mammals.
