The Probus Club of Oadby and District
Leicestershire UK

Oadby is a southern suburb of Leicester City. The Club was founded on the 18th December 1974 and now has 84 retired or semi-retired business or professional members.

Our meetings are held at the Masonic Hall, Devonshire Place, 78 London Road, Leicester, which is easily accessible on the A6 road, and a short distance from Leicester Main Railway Station.

The Club Committee consists of a President, a Vice-President and a Past President, all elected at the AGM in March and holding their posts for one year: a hardworking Secretary, Alan Green, and Assistant Secretary, Ken Green: a Treasurer, Ken Warren, and Assistant Treasurer, Derek Cocks: and a Welfare Officer, Brian Raper, who visits any member who may be in poor health and keeps in touch with absent members.

We meet on the third Wednesday of each month, at 12.30 pm, for a very friendly and relaxed Lunch at 1.00pm, except in December when our Ladies are invited to join us for Christmas Lunch on the first Wednesday of the month. After Lunch we enjoy a varied programme of Speakers on a wide variety of interesting subjects.

Other activities including various trips both abroad and at home are arranged from time-to-time; as are Bowls Matches within the local area. There is a thriving Walking Group which meets one week after the Club Meeting and has completed more than 100 different off-road walks to explore and enjoy the beautiful countryside of Leicestershire and surrounding Counties.

Probus Members visiting the area are very welcome to join us for Lunch, but please give 48 hours notice to:
the Secretary, Alan Green (01664 454 103   EMail:
alan@oakham.uk.com)
or to the Assistant Secretary Ken Green (No relation!)   (0116 275 0325).
