Probus Club of Allander held their first meeting in January 1982 attended by a number of retired and semi retired professional and business men with the intention of providing a meeting point and an opportunity to maintain social contact with others in similar circumstances.

We have an active membership of ninety five and 10 retained members who generally cannot manage to our meetings. They are frequently visited by our welfare officer who also delivers the Probus Magazines.

On the second and fourth Thursdays from September to March we meet in the Lesser Town Hall, Milngavie at 2.15 pm when we are addressed by a visiting speaker.  On all other Thursdays throughout the year we meet at Gavin’s Mill, Milngavie at 10 am for coffee and to sort out the problems of the world.

We are located six miles northwest of Glasgow drawing our membership from the small towns of Bearsden and Milngavie and nearby villages.

Probus members visiting the area are always welcome.
