Here are suggested roles for a club Management Team. If not already on your Club Management Team then at the next opportunity, give it a try. This is one of the most rewarding and fun activities of being a PROBUS member, working alongside great fellow volunteers and forming long lasting friendships in helping to make your club the most pleasurable and enjoyable club ever.

At a minimum the positions that must be filled are the Officers of the club, these being:

  • President

  • Vice President

  • Treasurer  

  • Secretary

Many clubs prefer to co-chair some positions and is quite okay to do so, and is always good to have a backup

PRESIDENT

  • Serves as the executive head of the PROBUS Club, oversees all  of the club operation

VICE PRESIDENT

  • Assists President as needed, backup when required

PAST PRESIDENT

  • Chairs committee for management changes, provides guidance & assistance to President 

SECRETARY  

  • Keep minutes of all meetings of the Management Team and Membership meetings

TREASURER

  • Performs all banking transactions, record keeping and budget forecast

INTEREST GROUPS CHAIR

  • Facilitates the establishment and promotion of New Interest Groups

SOCIAL  COMMITTEE CHAIR

  • Prepare social events calendar for the year, usually one event per month

NEWSLETTER CHAIR

  • Prepare and distribute monthly newsletter

SPEAKER  COMMITTEE CHAIR 

  • Arrange  speakers schedule for General meetings

MEMBERSHIP CHAIR

  • Manage applications and membership roster and new member enrollment

HOUSE  COMMITTEE CHAIR

  • Arranges meeting  coffee/tea, treats and 50/50 draws

WEBMASTER

  • Manages and maintains club Website
